COMQG Potluck!

Next week is the First Tuesday, and we're having a potluck!

At 5:30 on Tuesday, July 1st, we're having a mexican-theme potluck. The board is providing the main dishes: enchiladas, tamales, beans & rice casserole, etc. Check your email for location and driving directions. If you didn't get the email and need directions, contact us at comqg@hotmail.com.

WIP COMQG Banner

Kayla's been working furiously on our banner!

On Wednesdays we feature a work in progress by COMQG members. This week it is our quilted banner. Members made blocks and they're getting pieced together...

For your Calendar

June 27th to July 5th: drop off your quilts at the Quilt Show office for display in the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. If you would like to bring your quilt to Kayla on July 1st to our meeting, she will take it to the show for you.

July 1: Barbecue  at Susan's, 5pm to 8pm. We will only have one meeting in July: a barbecue hosted by Susan on the first Tuesday. Check your email for information about where, and what to bring.

July 12: Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show.
We have filled our volunteer slots (thank you!!)
We are also planning a Modern Quilt Guild gathering at some point that day. Stay tuned for more information.
Invite your friends and family to see our Ohio Star Made Modern exhibit in the show!

July 25th: Deadline for posting a picture in the MQG forum for the Michael Miller Fabric Challenge. Remember this was a requirement for the challenge. Any questions ask Lindsey.

In August, we'll have meetings the first Tuesday at Quiltworks, and the third Tuesday in the park.

In September, meetings will go back to our regular schedule of first Tuesday at Quiltworks, and third Tuesday at Stitchin' Post.

Also this fall: look for a member survey to help drive our activities for 2015, nominations and elections for the 2015 COMQG board, and some weekend/evening COMQG sew days.

A meeting in the park

The weather threatened rain earlier in the day, but in the park it was sunny and beautiful!
We even got some sewing done in between sips of tea and chatting. Here's some from show and tell:

Please join us at the Pilot Butte Neighborhood Park, just east of Pilot Butte, on June 17th from 5pm to 8pm.

Camp Erin

On Wednesdays, we feature works in progress (or recently completed) by guild members. Enjoy!

A bunch of guild members sewed up these strawberry churn dash blocks, and we assembled, quilted, and sent the quilt off to Camp Erin. Hopefully a camper loves it!

Kristin took a class from the Gee's Bend Quilters and brought the quilt to show us! 

 Kelly is working on this super cute baby quilt

 Marilyn made this awesome quilt and was drafting the pattern. 

 Kristin made this for the first COMQG fabric challenge. It was featured in Gwen Marston's new book!

 Christy is working on her quilt to submit for QuiltCon. She shared with us a little more of her plan and it is going to be amazing!

Kristin made a chevron quilt for her daughter, and the back is really cool, too!

Katy was quilting on a birthday quilt for her niece. 

 Susan finished up her tote from a Sew Down class taught by Elizabeth Hartman. 

Meeting Reminder

It's the first Tuesday so we're meeting at Quiltworks at 5pm on Tuesday, June 3rd.

Business is at 6pm. On the agenda:

--Kayla is collecting blocks for the COMQG banner. Blocks are due to Kayla at this meeting.
--Let's talk about a challenge theme for next year!
--Show and tell
--Meeting location changes for June and July and August.
--Charity Quilt Updates. The Ronald McDonald House quilt has been auctioned off a couple of weeks ago, and the Camp Erin quilt will be sent away to the camp next week.

Please bring some handwork, show and tell, food or drink, as you wish.
